How To Check Your Foot Type For Running Shoes

We always said we need to choose running shoes, but the running shoes here are sneakers for jog actually.

According to the function, running shoes can be divided into three categories: cushioning series, stability series and control series.

Cushioning Series Running Shoes

The middle layer of sole is soft, the main function is to help your feet absorb vibration. The cushioning running shoes are a little lighter, the stability is always not good enough.

Stability Series Running Shoes

The feet arch position of the sole has a high-density material structure, it will give you arch of foot a good support, it can also prevent your foot outward.

Control Series Running Shoes

This series running shoes are all hard and heavy, it will reduce the inward range of your foot. This series running shoes are really rare, so in this article I will not introduce it any more.

Almost all the running shoes we worn are cushioning shoes and stability shoes.

The running shoes always has 3 level: basic, advanced and the top level.

From the basic shoes to the top level, the better materials, the higher price. Which level of running shoes you want to buy, not decide by your income, only for your weight, the most top level running shoes just for the runners with big weight.

A running shoes has 3 parts: outsole, insole and shoes body.

The outsole has another name called big sole, it is the part which always touch the ground, its main function is to prevent slip and prevent wear.

The insole is between outsole and shoes body, it has the functions of cushioning, stability and protection, and it is the most important and technically part of the running shoes.

The shoes body is the part above the sole, which has the functions of breathability and beauty.

Now we know the categories and structures of running shoes, but how to choose a fit running shoes for ourselves?

The first tip, you should know what the type of your foot

It called web foot method.

First, make a basin with some water, put your foot into it, a  paper on the side of the basin, then put your foot on the paper. Check your wet foot print:

The second tip, according to your foot type, speculate the outward range of your foot

Low arch and flat foot runners, the foot will turn outwards when running, we call this valgus.

The normal foot on the ground is upright.

High arch runners, the foot will inward when they are running, we call this toot type is varus.

The third tip, check your soles, not only running shoes, normal shoes also

You can verify your speculation right or wrong in the second step.

The fourth tip, according to the internal rotation, estimate which running shoe series fit for you

The varus and normal arch foot runners choose the cushioning running shoes, the valgus runners choose the stability running shoes.

The fifth tip, choose the correct level of running shoes with your weight

If your weight less than 100 lb, you can choose the basic level, 100-120 lb choose the advanced level, more than 120 lb should choose the top level.

The sixth tip, choose the running shoes size half a yard larger

Please remeber this rule carefully, you must choose a running shoes with half a yeard bigger size, because when we were running, our feet will become thicker, because of the hyperaemia. Then the bigger running shoes will just fit for you at that time.

The standard is your tiptoe can touch the toe cap, and you can put a finger into the healpiece.

You’d better test the shoes in an afternoon, because our feet will become biggest in the afternoon.

The seventh tip is check quality of the running shoes
